Newbury and Nellie Leonard Newbury. He graduated from the Perry High School in 1941. He served in the US Navy in World War II, designing radar systems in the South Pacific. Harry attended Iowa State University and subsequently became an Electrical Engineer for Ford-Philco. At NASA he spent many years establishing and maintaining radar stations across the globe. Harry travelled throughout the world, to countries as varied as Australia, England, France, Germany, Peru and Guam. He also worked on the Viking Mission to Mars among other NASA projects. Harry was a champion golfer and bowler, playing in many tournaments. He also enjoyed fishing and socializing with his many friends. Harry is survived by his sister, Peggy Nicholaisen of Perry, his daughter Paige Newbury of Scotts Valley, CA, his son Dirck Newbury of Oakland, CA, his nephew Tom Sloss of Perry and several grandchildren.
