Hazel Knisley was born August 6, 1928 in Bartlesville, OK. Hazel is survived by her children, Roger (Linda) Knisley of Sapulpa, OK; Rance (Kara) Knisley of Allen, TX; Cammie (Duane) Cooper of Enterprise, KS; a sister, Ruth Eikenberry of Edna, KS; seven grandchildren (Kathryn, Whit, Adam, Brenten, Tucker, Dalton and Ceaton) and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Sonny and two sisters, Betty and Elnora. During her working career, Hazel worked ten years as a bookkeeper for C. Meyer Super Value in Winterset and later 12 years for Dahl’s Foods in Des Moines. Hazel made her home in Winterset for 40 years and she was active as a 4H leader when her children were young. She loved sewing, cooking and she was an avid walker. She also enjoyed working in the yard and any activity which allowed her to be outdoors. Most of all she enjoyed the time spent with her seven grandchildren. Hazel died Monday, July 13, 2009 at the Winterset Care Center North in Winterset. She was 80. Visitation: 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 16, 2009 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare. Service: Memorials may be directed to the ISU Madison County Extension for the 4H Program. Memorial: A private family burial will take place at the North McDonald Cemetery, Madison County.
