Hazel Velma Davis Clark passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at the Winterset Care Center South. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 27, at McCalley-Collins Funeral Home with Pastor Sandy Smith officiating. Burial will be in the McDonald-Chase Cemetery in Madison County. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to her service time on Tuesday. Hazel was born September 6, 1916 in Peru, Madison County, Iowa, the youngest of three children born to John William Davis (1890 - 1950) and Laura Belle Allen (1891 - 1918). Following graduation in 1933 from the Macksburg, IA, High School, she received her normal school teaching certificate and taught in local one room country schools. She married Raymond Guy Clark (1920 - 2011) on June 5, 1940 at the brides home in Macksburg. Hazel was devoted to her husband, family, friends from the farming community, and church. Hazel was an active member with the Booneville United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. Hazel is survived by four children: Jean Louise Brown (Clive, IA), Paul Allen Clark (Carole) (New Orleans, LA), Janet Alice Callahan (Bill) (Dallas, TX) and Cheryl Jane Clark (Osage Beach, MO). She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Jeri, Paul, Jeffrey, Todd, Tonja, John & Elizabeth; twelve great-grandchildren, Adam, Alex, Elena, Raymond, Terra, Morgan, Jocelyn, Gabrielle, Elijah, Wade, Jessica and Aaron; and one great-great grandchild, Sophia. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband of seventy-one years and her two brothers, Leo Edward Davis (1910 - 2000) and Lewis Emery Davis (1914 - 1968). Memorial contributions may be directed to the Booneville United Methodist Church Building Fund.
