Henry Kibbe, 66, of Peru, died Monday, October 10, 2016, at his home. A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, October 15, 2016, at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset, where family will be present to receive friends at this time. A private family burial will be held at a later date in the Peru Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family and online condolences can be left at ochiltree.com. Henry Michael Kibbe, son of Floyd, Sr. and Mildred (Rodish) Kibbe, was born August 11, 1950, in Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated from Southeast Warren High School in 1968. Henry was united in marriage with Gayle Porter on May 19, 1973, in Winterset, Iowa. Henry co-owned a service station, worked as a service advisor for Noble Ford and later for Iowa Tire, all of Indianola. He was a proud member of the Nation Rifle Association. Henry enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time outdoors. He was a jack of all trades working on countless vehicles, welding, woodworking, making toy tractors for his nieces and nephews and when he was younger he built and drove stock cars. Henry and Gayle enjoyed traveling and tried to take a trip every year. Henry was always friendly and seemed to know everyone. All this said, he was a loving husband, brother, uncle and friend who cherished the time he was able to spend with them. Henry is survived by his wife of 43 years, Gayle Kibbe of Peru; sister, Mary (Melvin) Abrahamson of Chariton; brother, Scott (Karen) Kibbe of St. Charles; numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd, Sr. and Mildred Kibbe and his brother, Floyd Kibbe, Jr.
