Hildred Allen

Hildred Allen, 93, died November 3, 2024, at Eden Acres in Perry, Iowa. She was born June 21, 1931, in Longrun, Missouri. Hildred and her twin Mildred were 7th and 8th in line of 12 children born to William and Nora (Hampton) Simpson. 

Hildred enjoyed reading, working puzzles, baking, and spending time with her kids and grandchildren. She sewed all her life and mastered everything from wedding dresses to Barbie clothes. After moving to Yakima, Washington, Hildred enjoyed sharing recipes with her sisters and baking for their large family gatherings. She also enjoyed tending to her flower gardens.

She was excellent at embroidery, often completing a project in one day. Many friends and relatives were taught the craft by Hildred, but none were able to master the same level of expertise. 

When she moved to Eden Acres she enjoyed working on puzzles with her friend Sue and continued her embroidery and reading.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 8 sisters and 3 brothers a daughter, Connie Rogers and a Son-in-Law, Brent Davis.

She is survived by her children: Rhonda Volz (Doug), Tammy Rogge (Ken), Brenda Davis and Terry Allen; grandchildren: Alison Kanealy (Phil), Ellyse Fazio, Isaac Volz (Melissa), Brennan Baker (Zak), Alisha Lee, Maria Thompson (James), Adam Rogge, and Dalton Davis; and 17 great-grandchildren.
