Holly Van Buren

Holly Ann Van Buren, 65 of Adel, passed away Saturday October 23, 2021 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, IA surrounded by loved ones. Holly was born May 1, 1956 and adopted in upstate New York by her adoptive parents Guy and Mary (Shafer) McRorie. She was raised in Cooperstown, New York. Holly had spent her life living in several states including Florida, Texas, and eventually residing in Iowa with her daughter and grandchildren. She made so many wonderful friends along the way. Holly spent her career in early education and loved to teach younger children. She enjoyed cooking delicious meals, and spending time with her grandchildren. Those left to cherish her life are her daughter Samantha (Patrick) Johns; grandchildren Sasha Johns, Jade Johns, Mason Johns, Braelynn Johns, McKenna Johns. She is preceded in death by her parents Guy and Mary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family A celebration of Holly's life will be held 1:00pm November 7, 2021 at Big Al's BBQ in Adel.
