Howard Thomas Hobson

Howard Thomas Hobson "Tom" son of Leo L. Hobson and Emma Grace Cutter Hobson was born March 13, 1930 in Morrisonville, Illinois, and died October 25, 2012 at his home in Jefferson, Iowa. Tom was 82. He grew up in town in Farmersville, Illinois and went to a country school near his home. Tom and Georgia Ann Seelbach were united in marriage on May 9, 1953 in Farmersville, Illinois. The couple moved to Jefferson in 1971. They were blessed with six children: Gregory, Lynn, Marilyn Leanne, Laureen "Lori", Terri, and Timothy. Tom was a truck driver. He managed Milligan's Elevator, worked for Greene County Redi Mix, and worked for Clair Wills. Tom enjoyed listening to country music on the radio, bowling, dancing and visiting with friends. Many remember Tom's 1954 green army bus that he took for camping trips. He was a member of the Elks Lodge. Tom served in the 552nd Anti-Aircraft Artillery Gun Battalion stationed at Karlsruhe, Germany for 4 years. Tom was preceded in death by his parents Leo and Emma Hobson, wife Georgia Ann Hobson, son Gregory Hobson, and grandson Chad Courtright, brothers Allen Leroy, Robert Leo, Charles William, and Norman James "Ike". Tom is survived by his four daughters: Lynn Blinco (Rick) of Millerton, IA, Marilyn Leanne Naylor (Phill) of Rippey, IA, Laureen "Lori" Grow (Jeff) of Rippey, IA, and Terri Scheuermann of Boone, IA; son Timothy Hobson of Boone, IA; grandchildren: Jennifer Lawson (Steve), Shane Scheuermann (Lisa), Tanner Scheuermann (Jackie Minnehan), Danielle Reinert (Shawn), Michelle Irwin (Tyson), and Jarred Naylor; great-grandchildren: Sommer Ann Scheuermann, Holden Scheuermann, Drake Irwin, McKenna Lawson, Arya Reinert, and Coltyn Irwin; brothers: Alfred Dale (Margaret), George Edward (Mary), Darrold Eugene, Karl Emery (Jeanette), and Ralph William (Ida); sister Ina Mae Hobson, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
