Hugh Sheppard, 54, passed away on February 3, 2023. He was born on November 2, 1968 to John and Linda “Jewett” Sheppard in Littleton, Colorado. After High School, Hugh joined the Army with the 101st Airborne Division and was active in Desert Storm. He rode second seat in the helicopter reconnaissance missions then he joined the National Guard as military police for the 186th Iowa Division out of Camp Dodge.
Hugh was an avid sports fan but especially loved the Iowa Hawkeyes, Minnesota Vikings and the New York Yankees. He loved to travel and sit on the beach with a beer in one hand and a cigar in the other. Hugh was a cigar enthusiast.
Hugh was a generous man and larger than life. Those who spent time with him were never without a laugh and left with a memory. He always had a way with people and was known to be “the life of the party” whether it was his contagious personality or his goofy looks he always had on his face. He also loved to cook. He was known for using random items from his fridge and whipping something together. Hugh loved hanging out in his garage watching sports on his many TVs. He loved his dog Boomer dearly.
He is survived by his children Alec Sheppard and Tiz Sheppard and many other extended family and friends.
