Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 24, 2010 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare, Winterset, Iowa. Interment: Worthington Cemetery, Madison County, Iowa Ila was born June 17, 1921 in Madison County, Iowa the daughter of Earl and Bernice (Lenocker) Linn. She graduated from Earlham High School, class of 1939. Her marriage to Glenn Silverthorn took place on April 26, 1947 at the West Star Church, west of Winterset. He preceded her in death in March 1986. After graduating from high school Ila worked at the Earlham Superintendent’s office for five years. Ila retired from the Madison County Courthouse as the Deputy Clerk of Court, a position she held for 14 years. Her career with the Madison County Courthouse and the Webster, Frederick, Jordan & Oliver Law Firm spanned 30 years. Ila was a member of the Worthington United Methodist Church for many years and more recently has attended the First United Presbyterian Church of Winterset. She dearly loved her grandchildren, enjoyed helping people, taking bus trips and never overlooked an opportunity to play cards. Ila is survived by her two daughters, JoAnn Collins (Nolan) of Winterset and Beverly Wiebenga (Dennis) of Earlham; one sister, Vivian Boston of Waukee; one brother, Earl Linn, Jr. of Huxley; two grandchildren, Nathan and Kelsey Collins; one step-grandchild, Noelle Taylor; one great-grandchild, Justin; six step great-grandchildren, Aleena, Trey, Clay, Emma, Kelli and Jack; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glenn; three sisters, Earlene Gutshall, Irene England and Thelma Inman; five brothers, Darrell, Lloyd, Laurence, Wilbur, and Bernard Linn. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
