Inez E. Woods Bennett

Inez Ellen Farwell was born in Adair County on January 28, 1924, the daughter of Allen and Leone (Duff) Farwell. She graduated from Greenfield High School and later married William Ward Woods on January 28, 1946 in Des Moines. To this union a son and a daughter were born. Ward preceded Inez in death in Nov of 1981. She later married Everrett Irvine and after his death she again married in 1997 to Charles Bennett. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Ward Woods and Everrett Irvine; a sister, Charlotte Forsyth; a brother, Raymond Farwell and a granddaughter, Stacy Lynn Woods. In addition to being a homemaker and raising her two children, Inez worked as a nurse’s aid for many years in several nursing homes in Winterset. She was a member of the Lorimor Baptist Church, the Rebekah Lodge, and Royal Neighbors. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards and spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband Charles Bennett of Winterset; a son, Pat Woods of Winterset; a daughter, Mary (Steve) Slauson of Grimes; two sisters, Dorothy Endres of Winterset; LaVaun Wright of Stuart; 4 grandchildren (Lori, Rusty, Trisha and Chad) and 7 great grandchildren (Hailey, Stacy, Mikala, Devan, Jacob, Clark and Cora).
