The two married, traveled for a short time during his time in service and settle in Grand Junction, IA with their two daughters Dani and Carrie. Jack was a family man in every sense of the word. He enjoyed spending time with his daughters on the weekends while they were growing up and taking his grandchildren on "adventures" to discover all of the wonders in nature. He liked to tend to his buckeye tree, build any type of contraption, work on cars, talk science, ride his motorcycle, research and log his family history, and enjoy time with those he loved. His mild-mannered nature and willingness to lend a hand to anyone made him a beloved fixture in the Grand Junction Community. Jack is survived by his daughters Dani Dayton of West Des Moines, IA and Carrie Cummings of Phoenix, AZ. Grandchildren Catelyn (Carlos), Dylan (Kayla), Drake, and Chace and his great-grandchildren Joaquin, Lillian, Jaxon, and Riplin; adopted daughter Melissa Smith of Algona.
