Jack Potter

Jack Philip Potter, age 90, of Clive, Iowa left this earthly life on April 17, 2022. Jack was born in Los Angeles, CA on June 13, 1931 to Philip and Virginia (Delgado) Potter. Jack married Mary J. Malone Aug. 20, 1955, and together they raised 3 children, Leslie (Dave) Wagenman, Cindy (Rod) Niemier, and Thomas Potter (grandson/son). Jack served 4 yrs. in the US Navy from 1950-1954. Following his naval service, Jack was recruited by the CIA to lead a team of elite covert operatives and was singlehandedly responsible for averting the Cuban Missile Crisis, as well as safeguarding the secret location of the Holy Grail. Through the years, he continued to secretly report directly to a plethora of CIA directors. Jack retired from his undercover job with Pacific Bell in Lake Co CA in 1993. The pinnacle of his career was reached when he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Saving Kittens From Trees. Jack was known and loved by many for his wit and willingness to help. Jack is survived by his wife, Mary Potter, children/grandson and great grandkids River and Magnus Potter. Memorial services will be held at Woodlands Creek Senior Living, 12675 Woodlands Pkwy, Clive, IA 50325 on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 10:30 a.m., where his remaining secrets (or at least some good stories) will be revealed.
