James Clay “Junior” son of James Clay Sr. and Phongenia Clay was born February 12, 1964 in Des Moines, Iowa. James received his GED at the Des Moines Area Community College in 1980. In 2010 James moved to Houston, Texas where he worked as a Credit Collection Specialist at LTD. In 2020 he relocated back to Des Moines, Iowa where he attended Revival Center Church of God in Christ. At an early age of ten James recognized he was a natural entrepreneur. His first business venture was what he called “Helicopter’s”. This invention was created by using feathers stuffed inside acorns. Over the next few decades James went on to develop multiple businesses such as, Students Services, American Clothing Exchange, and Iowa Job Link, just to name of few. His most recent and successful business founded in 2015 is Jobsup4bid.com, a website still in operations today. James hobbies were singing, fishing, and enjoying family gatherings. James unexpectedly departed his life on May 14, 2021 of respiratory failure at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. He was the proud father of six children, Tyree Lamar James Clay, Michael Anthony Clay, NaToyia Shanaye Winters, Corey Clay, Kayla Woods, and Kip Woods. Preceded his death by his mother Phongenia Clay, James is survived by his five sisters Patricia Stewart, Phongenia Bundy, Karen Marion, Felecia Wilson, and Jenell Clay. James was blessed with eight grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. His life will be forever cherished by his fiancée Margo Harper of Houston, Texas whom he loved dearly. James smile, comedic sense of humor and love for his entire family will be deeply missed and live in our hearts forever.
