James Dean Shackelford

James "Jim" Dean Shackelford, born on August 17, 1957, in Estherville, Iowa, Jim was the son of Marvin and Mary Ellen (Beaver) Shackelford. He spent his formative years in Bayard, Iowa, where he graduated from Bayard High School.

Jim had an unwavering love for cars. Whether it was fast cars, old cars, or meticulously detailing them, he found joy in all things automotive. He possessed a keen eye for detail and took great pride in his work as a painter and cleaner.

Beyond his passion for cars, Jim had a creative soul. He found solace in writing music and skillfully playing the guitar. Jim also had a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature and cherished spending time outdoors, where he found tranquility and inspiration. However, Jim's greatest love was reserved for his family, particularly his adored grandchildren. They held a special place in his heart, and he relished every moment spent with them.

He is survived by his daughters, Mindy Darland, Melissa (Jason) Rutherford, and Jennifer Zander; grandchildren, Haley (Kendall) Antle, Hannah Darland, Cammy and Cameron Rutherford, and Payton and Owen Zander; Great- Grand Children, Lennon, and Nolan Darland.

Jim's siblings, Darcy Anderson, Cindy Bielenburg, and Kurt and Gail Shackelford, and his longtime companion, Karen Gustoff; he leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will forever hold him dear in their hearts.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Mary Ellen Shackelford, and his brother, David Shackelford.

A celebration of life will be held at a later time.
