James H. "Jim" Scott Mitchellville (formerly of Adel) Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home where family will greet friends from 4 - 7 p.m with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. James "Jim" Hanson Scott of Mitchellville, formerly from Adel, passed away Sunday April 28, 2013 after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. He was born September 4, 1942, in Adel, Iowa, the son of Frank and Erma Scott. He graduated from Adel High School. Jim accomplished many things in his life, service in the Iowa National Guard, owner of Scotty's Furniture in Adel and Supply Manager for the Iowa State Patrol, not to mention a loyal husband, devoted father, never turning down an opportunity to help family and friends. Jim was an avid golfer with the same foursome for forty consecutive years at Hillcrest Country Club. He was a loyal Cyclone fan. He is survived by wife, Debra, son Jason (Tedra), stepsons Harrison and Alex, Granddaughters MaKenna, Hanna and Hayley and many other family and friends. He is preceded in death by parents Frank and Erma and brother Tony.
