James "Jim" Edward Coghlan

James Jim" Coghlan, age 73 of Woodward, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2022, at his home in Woodward, IA. A Celebration of his life will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care in Perry with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Woodward Cemetery at Woodward, IA. Memorials will be given to the Woodward Fire Department or the Woodward Cemetery and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care. James "Jim" Edward Coghlan was born on February 9, 1949, at Perry, IA to James Herbert and Grace Evelyn (Carr) Coghlan. He graduated from the Woodward Granger High School and then attended Northwest Missouri State University. He was united in marriage to Dianna Lynn Songer at Adel, IA on July 31, 1970. He worked at Oscar Mayer for 16 years, owned his own business cleaning cars for 5 years, then Service Master for 12 years, and Genesis Development for 3 years until his retirement. He enjoyed detailing cars, driving fast, and painting houses. He liked to be with the boys at the Blue Room and the Woodward Body Shop. Jim love to watch Gunsmoke, Yellowstone, the Rifleman and John Wayne movies. In death he rejoins his parents James and Grace Coghlan. Left to cherish Jims memory are his wife Dianna Lynn Coghlan, children, James Bryan (Jennifer) Coghlan, Stefanie Lynn (Scott) Dennis and Cody James Coghlan, grandchildren, Rebecca Coghlan, Emily Coghlan, Sydney Dennis, Tyler Dennis and Zachary Dennis, sisters, Cynthia Frantum, and Tracey (Chris) Deckard, brother-in-law, Larry Songer and numerous nieces and nephews.
