James Moore, 85, of Winterset, passed away Tuesday September 15, 2020, at Good Samaritan Care Facility in Indianola. A visitation will be held 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home Winterset Chapel, where family will be present to receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at the funeral home. Those attending are asked to please follow social distancing guidelines, and masks are recommended. Live streaming of the service will be on Jim’s Tribute Wall at www.caldwellparrish.com. Memorials may be made to the family for a later designation. Jim was born September 10, 1935 in Ellston, Iowa to Walter Moore and Clara (Butt) Moore. He graduated from high school in Newberg, Oregon. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War where he was stationed in Japan. Jim married Lorene Kordick on September 25, 1959. They were the parents of two daughters, Sheryl Marie and Beverly Ann. Lorene died in 1976, and he later married Myrna Hope. He worked as a heavy machine operator as well as working on the farm. Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved to tell a good story, he was always smiling and joking around. He loved his children and grandchildren, the memories of him smiling and laughing will continue on. Jim is survived by his wife, Myrna; children, Rhonda (Dennis) Shoafstall of West Des Moines, Sheryl Moore of Mt. Pleasant, and Rodney (Sherry) Hope of New London; grandchildren, Brandi Morris (Tyson Donham), Brandon Richards, Clinton (Megan) Hope, Spencer (Katty) Hope, Justin (Crystal) McDonald, Krista (Dan) McAllister, and Jamie (Matthew) Krogmeier; great grandchildren, Dayton Morris, Denim Morris, Bailee Richards, Mariah Richards, Carson Hope, Callie Hope, Corbin Hope, Gabriella McAllister, Gracelyn McAllister, Mayrose McAllister, Rockwell McAllister, Evanora McAllister, Lawson Krogmeier, and Korbyn Hamilton. He is also survived by his brother, Dean (Eileen) Moore; sisters Jeanne Olson, Linda Kibler and Debra Moore; also numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorene; infant daughter, Beverly; great grandson, Dallon Morris; sister, Reta Dixon; and his parents, Walter and Clara.
