James Mundell

James Lee Mundell, age 72, of Waukee, passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by family on Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at his residence. He was born on October 9, 1947 in Muscatine, Iowa to Robert and Vera (Stratton) Mundell. Jim graduated from high school and later enlisted into the US Army, serving during the Vietnam Conflict. In 1978, Jim married Peggy in Moline, Illinois. His major occupation during life was being a security guard. He retired in 2010 but continued to work until a few years ago. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Peggy; children, Perry Strable of Des Moines, Bob Mundell (Stacey Rinkert) of Linden, Brandy Santillan (Juan) of Des Moines; 15 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 4 sisters; and 1 brother. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vera and Bob Mundell; son, Brett Strable; sister, Rose Tunnell and brother, Dale Turner.
