James R. Boersma formerly of Perry, Iowa passed away January 8th, 2024, at the Equilibrium Ranch in Cuba, MO. James was born July 27, 1948, in Jefferson to Ralph and Madelon Boersma. James graduated from Perry High School and soon after enlisted in the United States Navy. He returned to Perry in July 1989 after retiring from the USN. James was united in marriage to Karon (Ridihalgh) Wimer on February 14th, 1990. James is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Madelon Boersma. He is survived by his wife, Karon Boersma of Versailles, Missouri, a son James A. Boersma (Allyson) of Indianapolis, IN, a stepson Michael Wimer of Versailles, MO, and stepdaughter Shari (Rick) Nelson of Platte City, MO, 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A graveside service with military honors will be held at the Dallas Township cemetery west of Dawson, Iowa on Thursday April 25th at 11:00am.
