Janess Jacobsma, 74, of Winterset, died August 29, 2012 at the Winterset Care Center North. Sadly, Janess' husband, Orville died Saturday morning when her funeral was to be held so her services were postponed and have been rescheduled as follows: A funeral for both Orville and Janess will be held 1 p.m., Monday, September 3 at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset. A visitation with family present will be held from Noon until service time on Monday. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, September 4 in the Ocheyedan Township Cemetery, Ocheyedan. Memorials may be directed to the Grace Christian Academy in Winterset. Janess was born June 21, 1938 in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Gary and Mildred (Forbes) Wolcott. Janess grew up in Battle Creek Iowa, graduated from high school there and later went on to attend AIB in Des Moines. She married Daniel Jessen and later married Orville Jacobsma on March 15, 1974 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Janess was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who always enjoyed time spent with family. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church where she was a dedicated member and in her free time, she loved sewing, gardening and antiquing. She is survived by her husband, Orville Jacobsma of Winterset; her four daughters, Julie Panther of Donnellson; Lori Martin (Scott) of Silver Creek, MS; Celeste Jessen (Ernest Hanson) of Florence, MS and Angela Jessen (David Olson) of New London; two step-children, Jacqueline Reusch (Mark) of Williamsburg, KS and Daniel Jacobsma of Pasadena, CA. She is also survived by her six grandchildren; Jessen Panther, Valerie Jessen, Samantha Geers, Kevin Jessen, and Jonathan and Wesley Reusch and four great-grandchildren: Haylie and Christopher Wrage and Shyla and Layla Geers. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Marsha Waslewski and a son-in-law, John Panther.
