Janice L. Hessenius - Adel

Janice Lou Hessenius, 70, died Friday, October 9, 2015 at Adel Acres Care Center in Adel. Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 17th at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to services. Jan was born September 2, 1945 in Des Moines, IA. She graduated from Dallas Center High School in 1963. After high school, she moved to Denver, Colorado until 1980, when she moved back to Adel. She worked many years at the De Soto Grain Elevator as the bookkeeper, and enjoyed working with the farmers. She also worked for Iowa Radiology and HyVee, where she made many great friends. In her free time, she enjoyed antiquing with friends and working on her flower garden at home. Jan is survived by her mother, Lucille Snyder; son, Scott (Dianne); three grandchildren, Andrew, Bradley and Coleman and one great granddaughter, Lilly.
