Janice Mary Ann Karl

Janice Mary Ann Karl was born February 2, 1926 to Raymond and Clara Klaus. She worked at Mercy Hospital where she met her husband John Karl. Janice also worked at Bishop Drumm Care Center and retired from Wesley Acres. She was a foster grandparent at Tiny Tots for over 15 years. Janice was a member of the Basilica of Saint John, the Rosary Society, 50+ club and the church choir. Janice passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at the Fleur Heights Care Center. A memorial mass will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 7 at the Basilica of Saint John in Des Moines. Janice is survived by her children, Shelly Hantz, Jeanine Karl, John Karl, Jill Crowley, Jim Karl, Joleen Karl and Joan Smith; fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, 3 step grandchildren and 7 step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and daughter, Jan Marie Karl.
