J.D. Wildin was born May 19, 1971 in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Vin and Kathy (Henson) Wildin. He graduated from Winterset High School where he was active in many sports. His marriage to Lynn Utsler took place on August 24, 1996 and to this union a son was born, Jayden. J.D. is survived by his wife, Lynn of Winterset; his 4-year old son, Jayden at home; his parents, Vin and Kathy Wildin of Winterset; a brother Alan Wildin (Penny) of Winterset; a nephew, Brad Wildin; a niece, Kelsey Wildin; parents-in-law; brothers and sisters-in-law; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Clarence and Miriam Wildin and his maternal grandparents, Albert and Ruth Henson. He worked as a foreman for Anchored Walls of Winterset. He was a member of the Iron Dukes Car Club. J.D. enjoyed watching NASCAR and doing carpentry work. He was also involved in Demolition Derbys, Figure 8/Cruiser Car Racing, and Four-Wheeling. Most of all, J.D.’s devotion and love was for his family and son. J.D. died Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. He was 37. Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 p.m., with family present to receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 15, 2008 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare. Service: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 16, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset. Memorial: Memorial contributions may be directed to J.D.'s family.
