Jean Bayers passed on to her next life on March 11, 2016. She was born to Aratus and Marjorie Senter on a farm near Jamaica, Iowa, August 14, 1923. She graduated from Jamaica High School in 1941. She married Richard Bayers in Omaha, Nebraska, on August 17, 1943. When Richard returned from the Pacific after World War II, they began farming in Jamaica, Dawson, and Bagley. They retired from farming in 1984 and moved into Jamaica. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Jamaica and a charter member of the Paul Johnson Post Legion auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard, her brother Keith Senter and infant granddaughter Jenny Bayers. She moved to Altus, OK, in January 2009 to live with Jim and Kathy Bayers. Survivors include her two sons Jim of Altus, OK and his wife Kathy, and John of Cypress, TX and his wife Shirley, four grandchildren: Amy Cargulia and her husband Ron of Freehold, NJ, Deena Schrein and her husband Greg of Savannah, GA, Damon Bayers and his wife Heather of Fort Worth, TX and Erin Smith of Waukee, IA, and seven great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Dr. John Root and his staff, Kay Stewart and the Tamarack Assisted Living Staff, and Jackson Co. Hospice for their untiring dedication and love to our mother. Interment will be in the Richland Township Cemetery on April 9 at 2:30 PM at the direction of Hastings Funeral Home of Perry.
