Jeff Farr

Jeff Farr, 62, of Winterset, died Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. A visitation with family present will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, June 11, at the First Christian Church in Winterset, with a memorial service to follow beginning at 5:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the family. Jeffery Lee Farr, the son of Richard ‘Bud’ and Carolyn (Carper) Farr was born May 31, 1955, in Osceola, Iowa. He grew up living in Winterset and graduated from Winterset High in 1973. Jeff was united in marriage to Patti Snedden on October 24, 1993, at the First Christian Church in Winterset. Jeff worked as a contractor for most his working career with remodeling as his specialty. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Winterset. Jeff enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and drinking coffee with the boys. He was a reliable friend who was always willing to lend a hand, even if he didn’t know you yet. Jeff was lighthearted with a larger than life personality and was always on the go. He loved attending his children’s various activities and helping with the Winterset Heat baseball team. Most of all, he was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend who cherished the time he was able to spend with those he loved. Jeff is survived by his wife, Patti Farr of Winterset; mother, Carolyn Farr of Winterset; his children, Cody Farr of Urbandale; Lauren Farr and Hunter Farr of Winterset; extended family and host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Bud Farr and brother, Jerry Farr.
