Jeffrey Harrington, age 59 of Des Moines, passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at his home in Des Moines, IA. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care in Perry. Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care in Perry. Burial will be in the Iowa Veterans Cemetery at Adel, IA on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at 9:30 a.m. Memorials will be given to his family and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Online condolences may be sent at www.carrisfuneralhome.com. Jeffrey Leigh Harrington was born on January 5, 1962, at Huntsville, AL to Jerry Leigh and Nadine Ruth (Abbott) Harrington. He attended school at Des Moines, IA. He served in the United States Coast Guard. He was united in marriage to Lori Kay Malone in 1991 and later divorced. He worked at Woodward Resource Center and Whistling Donkey in Woodward, IA. He was a history buff and was involved with Civil War Reenactments. He enjoyed going to the movies and, spending time with his grandchildren. In death he rejoins his parents, Jerry and Nadine Harrington, a brother, Rob Harrington and a cousin, Chris Edwards. Left to cherish Jeffreys memory are his children, Adam Harrington, Sean Harrington both of Des Moines, IA and Megan Harrington, Perry, IA, grandchildren, Jesse Oliver Wheeler, Perry, IA, and Alley Elizabeth Thorpe, Panora, IA, brothers, Tim Harrington, Madrid, IA, Mark Harrington, Altoona, IA and John (Roxana) Harrington, Madrid, IA.
