Jeffrey Welter

Jeffrey Welter, 63, passed away on March 16, 2022. He was born on January 12, 1959 to Byron and Georgine “Schaffer” Welter in Des Moines, Iowa. Jeffrey graduated from Dowling Catholic High School in 1977 then enlisted in the United States Navy in which he served for 6 years. He married the love of his life Petra on January 22, 1999 in Las Vegas. Jeffrey loved golfing, going to Prairie Meadows (way too often), and was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and Kansas City Chiefs. He leaves behind his wife Petra; puppies Astro and Zander; siblings Greg Welter, Tim (Joyce) Welter, and Susan (Stacey) Shaffer; sister-in-law Stephany Schadt; nieces and nephews Jennifer McCoy, Natalia Thilges, Nathaniel Schadt, Tiffany Mann, Stephen Shaffer and Sarah Shaffer; and numerous family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and nephew Johnathon. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2022 from 1:00-3:00 pm at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory in Urbandale. Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 12:30 pm at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society to go towards life saving research.
