Jerry Dean Lambert

Jerry Lambert, age 79 of Perry, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at the MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church, 1224 Lucinda, Perry, Iowa. Visitation will be on Monday, January 1, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care in Perry. Burial will be in the Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry, Iowa. Memorials will be given to his family for later designation and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care.

Jerry Dean Lambert was born on March 4, 1944, at Jefferson, Iowa to Raymond Joseph and June Maxine (Campbell) Lambert. He graduated from Perry High School with the class of 1962. He served in the United States Army in Korea. He was united in marriage to Trudy Ann Martin at Vermillion, South Dakota on April 2, 1968. He worked at John Deere in Ankeny for 32 years, the Perry School System in the Transportation Dept for 28 years, and also owned Lambert Upholstery since 1965.

He was a member of the First Christian Church and the Perry Elks Lodge local 407, and the UAW. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, working on his show car, and watching drag racing. Jerry was very particular about his yard and was a sports enthusiast.

In death he rejoins his parents, Raymond and June, sisters, Helen Conklin, and Charlotte Peterson, and brother Paul Lambert.

Left to cherish Jerry’s memory are his wife Trudy Lambert, Perry, Iowa, children, Jodi Lambert, West Des Moines, Iowa, Stephen (Glenda) Lambert, Pleasant Hill, Iowa, and Lori Lambert, Perry, Iowa, grandchildren, Ryan (Cyndy) Phillips, Colton (Mackenzie) Phillips, Christopher (fiancé Kylie Lanning) Lambert, Drew (Nicole) Niebuhr, Jessica Lambert, and Shane Travis, great grandchildren, Ashton, Landon, Emma, Quinton, Kylie, Paisley, Brecken, Drake, Weston, Corbin, Lexi, and Kylie, siblings, Nancy (Jim) Collins, Perry, Iowa, and Barry Lambert, Perry, Iowa, Harry Trevarthan, Perry, Iowa, and Tanna (Tom) Corrigan, Perry, Iowa.
