Jessie Wilkerson

On Sept. 11, 2015, Jessie D Wilkerson was called home to be with her Lord and Savior. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, IA. Jessie was born March 27, 1934 to Frances (Ponchie) and Salvador Gonzales. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Wilkerson, Sr., and son, Maury D. Wilkerson Sr. Jessie was a former member of the International Association of Machinist Local #1513. She worked at Woodford Manufacturing until 1985 and retired from Erickson Display. After her retirement she became a Home Health Care Provider, which she enjoyed immensely. Jessie also enjoyed cooking, gardening and watching tennis and golf. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Jessie is survived by her sons, Tony, Chico, Marshall, David, Bartlett, and Kurt Wilkerson and daughters Sylvia Blake, Jerri, Dawn and Rhonda Wilkerson, her granchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Our family would like to acknowledge the loving and exceptional care Mercy Hospice provided for our mother. A memorial luncheon will be held at the LULAC Club in Ft. Madison, IA from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Wednesday Sept. 16, 2015. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, Sept. 18, 2015 at 11:00 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, 8201 Hickman Rd, Urbandale, IA.
