Jo-Ann (Aubert) Leonhardt

Jo-Ann (Aubert) Leonhardt, returned to her heavenly home on Monday, April 23rd, 2018 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, IA. Jo-Ann was born on July 21st, 1933, a daughter of the late Oren and Florence Aubert. She grew up in Summerset, IA and went to Indianola High School. She worked at Gibbs Cook Caterpillar, where she met the love of her life. She and Bernard Leonhardt were married in September, 1970. She was a devout member of the Summerset Baptist Church and enjoyed hosting weekly Bible study in her home with her dear friends in God. Jo-Ann had a loving and generous heart, and was always giving to others. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family and friends. Jo-Ann is survived by her children, Rick (Caryn), Denny (Tess), Lonny, and Becky (Joe); her step-children, Steven (Wreta), Marty, & Anne (Dan). Also by her beloved 16 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. She loved nothing more than being a mother and grandmother. She is also survived by countless nephews, nieces, and cousins, all very near and dear to her heart. Memorial services will be held at the Summerset Baptist Church on Saturday, April 28th, 2018 from 1pm-4pm. Memorial donations may be made in Jo-Ann’s name to 2212 32nd Street, Des Moines, IA 50310.
