JoAnne McVey

JoAnne McVey, 87, of Johnston, previously from Adel, passed away on February 20, 2025 at Unity Point Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. 

JoAnne was born on July 21, 1937 to Marion and Pauline (Waters) Ostrander in Adel, IA. She attended school in DeSoto, IA. JoAnne married Lester LeFluer and were married for 34 years before his passing. Over the years, she worked many jobs until purchasing her mothers cafe in DeSoto, she then called it Mom's Place. After retiring she still loved to bake for family and friends. She also loved playing dice and cards with her friends in the community. And she always looked forward to her day out with her sisters for lunch.

JoAnne is survived by her children, Gail (John) Warren of Johnston, Deborah (Bob) Colville, Roger LeFleur, and Susan (David) Renfrow of Adel ; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers, Butch Ostrander and Carl Ostrander; sisters, Darlene Younker, Sharon Greer, and Nancy Parkison as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lester LeFleur, and brother Shorty Ostrander.
