John Charles Lee, passed away at the age of 84 on Sunday, September 8th, 2024, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. His Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Dallas Center Legion Hall.
John was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, and was born on August 2nd, 1940, in Texarkana, Texas.
John’s life was filled with love and dedication to his family. He married the love of his life, Roberta Kay Owens on May 18th, 1973, in El Paso, Texas. Together, they raised four wonderful children while John pursued a successful career as a Boilermaker with Local 83.
John found great joy in spending time with his family and engaging in activities he cherished. Fishing, playing cards, and embarking on late-night casino trips with his beloved wife, Roberta brought him immense happiness.
In heaven, John is reunited with his wife, Roberta, and son, Palmer. His memory will be forever cherished by his three daughters: Brenda Doep (Patrick) of Grand Junction, Iowa; Glenda (Chris) Pappas of Dallas Center, Iowa; and Alta (Tracy) Howe of Dallas Center, Iowa; and his son, Johnny Lee of Texas.
John’s legacy also included five grandchildren: Melissa Cox, Chelsea Quinn, Angel Bunn, Mary Lee, and Cody Lee; eight great-grandchildren: Sky Conrad, Zoe Conrad, Trent Whiton, Bella Wanninger, Mercedez and Logan Quinn, Mia Thomas, and Malachi Hribar; and two-great-great-granddaughters: Elektra Conrad and Onyx Conrad-Johnson. He will be deeply missed by numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.
