John F. 'Buck' Groves - Adel

John Frederick (Buck) Groves lost his fight with lung cancer November 9, 2013. Buck was born April 26, 1930. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Buck married Betty Faulkner November 27, 1950 at the Little Brown Church. He retired after 40 years at Martin Marietta. Buck is survived by his wife, Betty; three children, Diana (Ken) Yock of Quincy, IL., Glenda (Steve) Bandy of Adel and David (Teresa) Groves of Waukee; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren; a sister, Helen Van Zee and a brother, Ike Groves of Oskaloosa. He was preceded by his sister, June Glendening. Graveside Services will be 11 AM Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Union Mills Cemetery near New Sharon. Friends may call after 2 PM Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel, where family will greet friends from 5 to 7 PM.
