John J. Corkrean

John was born July 29, 1924 in Madison County, Iowa, the son of James A. and Frances (Kirvin) Corkrean. He graduated from Winterset High School in 1942 and his marriage to Patricia McLaughlin took place in 1943. John died peacefully Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at Madison County Health Care System in Winterset surrounded by his family. He was 82. John and Pat made their home on a farm in Lee Township, Madison County where he farmed until 1953 when he became a zone manager with the International Harvester Company working in Missouri and Illinois for 17 years. In 1970 John resumed farming in Lee Township. John was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish, Winterset, a former member of the Knights of Columbus as well as serving on Madison County’s Zoning Board. Visitation: He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gene and Philip Corkrean and a sister, Elizabeth Neal.
