John Michael Osboe, 46, of Norwalk, IA passed away on November 11, 2024, at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, while surrounded by his family.
John Michael Osboe was born on August 9, 1978, in Webster City, Iowa, the son to Beth (Miller) and Tom Osboe. He was raised and graduated from the Webster City Community School District in 1997 where he lettered in football, golf and basketball. During his high school football career, he had the honor of being a member of the 1995 and 1996 district football championships, while being named to the 1996 all-state second team as an offensive lineman. One of John's favorite memories was earning runner-up medalist at the 1996 North Central Conference golf tournament. Upon graduation, John attended Iowa Central Community College where he enjoyed playing on the college's golf team. He was a 2-time NJCAA National Tournament Qualifier, cherishing the memory of his father by his side for the entirety of the tournament. John completed his college education at the University of Northern Iowa where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Management.
John began his professional career at Wells Fargo in Des Moines. In 2007, he was excited to pursue his career as a medical sales professional. He worked diligently and passionately to provide relevant information about medical equipment and testing to aid providers in patient care. John spent the last several years at Quest Diagnostics as a Neurology Account Executive.
John married his wife Danielle on August 15, 2009, at La-Bella Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada. They resided in Des Moines, Iowa for many years before moving to Norwalk in 2015. They had 2 children, a son Colin (16) and a daughter Addi Grace Osboe (8). John enjoyed spending countless hours with Colin listening to music and taking father son trips to Colorado. He took pleasure supporting Addi Grace in all of her dance performances and recitals. As a family, they enjoyed spending time going to outdoor festivals and family vacations. John especially loved their trips to Clearwater, Florida and their most recent trip to the Wisconsin Dells.
John was a lifelong avid golfer, who loved competing in tournaments with his closest friends. Being a loyal Iowa Hawkeye fan was an important part of John's life as he found joy in attending and watching Hawkeye football and basketball games.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Danielle; their 2 children, Colin and Addi Grace; father, Tom; brother, Jeff; two sisters, Sarah (Tony) Atkinson and Stephanie (Matt) Pruismann; three nieces, Payton, Anna and Beth; five nephews, Blake, Max, Tripp, Kase, and Teller; maternal grandmother, Delma (Dick) Swanson; and his aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Beth (Miller) Osboe; paternal grandparents, Frannie and Orlan Osboe; and maternal grandfather, Robert Miller.
A public visitation for John will be held on Thursday, November 21st, 2024, at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11:00-12:00pm, followed immediately by the funeral service at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, 8201 Hickman Road, Des Moines, IA and with the burial procession to Waukee Cemetery to follow.
Danielle, Colin, and Addi Grace wish to give a special thanks to the nurses, doctors, chaplains, social workers and Child Life staff at Methodist Hospital for the wonderful care of John and their loving support for the family. They also would like to thank all of the family and friends who have reached out and supported them during this difficult time.
