John Stanger

John Morgan Stanger, 59, died peacefully in his sleep Thursday, March 9, at his home in Des Moines. Graveside services will be held at a later date.

John was born November 30, 1963, in Des Moines, Iowa, the youngest son of Yontz Eldon and Betty Louise (Fredregill) Stanger. He was a graduate of Roosevelt High School. He enjoyed reading his Bible and talking with friends. John struggled with mental and emotional health through much of his life. In recent years he found support and contentment at Vita Health Services group home in Des Moines.

John was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother, Betty Stanger of Grimes, by his siblings David (Julie) Stanger of Granger, Mark (Lynette) Stanger of Abilene, KS, Drinda Williams of Des Moines, and Peggy (Ritchie) Miller of Granger, as well as many nieces and nephews.
