John Tasler

John Joseph David Tasler, 91, passed away peacefully on January 20th, 5 days short of his 92nd birthday. John aka Jack was born on the family farm in Greene County, IA to Francis "Frank" and Margaret Tasler and had five siblings. Jack never met a stranger and was the best story teller. He loved visiting family and friends, and always shared a wave, laugh and smile. Over the years he was a jack of all trades and dabbled in many different endeavors. He joined the air force at a young age, was a police officer and a realtor just to name a few. He is survived by his wife Mary, of 53 years, 4 children David Tasler, Melanie Whalen ( Jim), Darin Tasler, Michele Tasler Hearne and 3 step children Lori Tejeda, Tom Wilson and Scott Wilson (Sarah) plus 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Visitation will be January 25th, 2022 from 9-10:30 a.m. followed by a rosary at 10:30 a.m. and mass at 11 a.m. The family would like to thank our hospice team from Unity Point especially nurse Holly and aide Garland. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family to donate to their favorite charities. As Jack would always say - See ya when I see ya!
