John William Schnoor

John Schnoor, age 55 of Perry, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at the Mercy One Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care in Perry. Burial will be in the Violet Hill Cemetery. Everyone is encouraged to wear face coverings and practice social distancing while attending services. John was born on January 9, 1967 in Perry, Iowa to Carl and Harriett Schnoor. He graduated from Boone High School in 1985. He attended the University of Minnesota, University of Iowa, Iowa State University, and DMACC, earning degrees in Electronics and Robotics and in Business Information Systems. Working in IT, John developed software and web page designs. He also helped with the family farms. He enjoyed genealogy, geology, and traveling. John was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Harriett Schnoor. He is survived by his sisters, Sue (Al) Omestad, Jane (Roy) Swain, and Loraine (Mike) Wallace, nieces and nephews, David Omestad, Benjamin Swain, Michelle Yocum, Chase Wallace, Ellie Wallace, and Anne Wallace, and great nieces, Celia and Yarrow Swain and Charlotte and Ella Yocum.
