John Williams Jr.

John H. Williams Jr. died suddenly at the age of 80 due to heart failure. He was born on February 21, 1942 to John and Ruth “Spohr” Williams in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Proviso East High School in Chicago then attended college at the University of Illinois. Being born and raised in Chicago, John became an avid Chicago Bears fan.

John was a driven professional with an unmatched work ethic. He worked as a salesman at International Harvester Overseas Division then moved back to the states where he became the CFO for Iowa Industrial. He spent the rest of his years working at Kingston Health insurance until his passing.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Elizabeth; children Jim Williams, Katy (Chad) Barnes, Jason (Joan) Williams, Tracey (Mark) Kraft; sister Marliee Gillis; grandchildren Halen, Max, Bode, Jacob, Gabriel and Eli; and numerous nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Ken Williams.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 31st, 2022 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Waukee at 10:30 a.m. The family will greet friends 45 minutes prior to the service. A private burial will take place at Saint Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
