Jose Guzman Coronado

Jose Guzman Coronado was born May 23, 1949, in Degollado, Jalisco, Mexico, the son of Francisco Guzman and Victoria Coronado. He migrated to the United States where he lived in Illinois, California, Georgia, before eventually settling in Des Moines.

He married Maria Sanchez on September 10, 1970. Jose owned his own construction company where he worked as a mason. He enjoyed cooking especially seafood, fishing, and talking with friends. Jose loved spending time with his family.

Jose died Sunday, April 2, 2023 at University Park Nursing & Rehab Center in Des Moines. He was 73 years old.

He is survived by his wife, Maria; children, Miguel (Patricia) Guzman and their children, Andrea and Armando Guzman, Patricia Guzman (Carlos Barrera) and their children, Carlos, Oscar, and Carla Barrera, Leticia Guzman (Juan Canchola) and their children, Juan Luis, Luis Alberto, and Rafael Francisco Canchola, Judith Guzman (Miguel Hernandez) and their children, Alfredo and Jose Hernandez, Rafael Guzman (deceased) and his son Rafael Guzman, Gabriel Guzman (Sandra) and his children, Melanie, and Mateo Guzman, and Alejandra Guzman; siblings, Carlos Guzman, Gustavo Guzman, Consuelo Guzman, Maria Guzman, and many nieces, and nephews.

Funeral service for Jose will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

José Guzmán Coronado nació el 23 de Mayo de 1949 en Degollado, Jalisco, México, hijo de Francisco Guzmán y Victoria Coronado. Emigró a los Estados Unidos donde vivió en Illinois, California, Georgia, antes de finalmente establecerse en Des Moines.

Se casó con María Sánchez el 10 de Septiembre de 1970. José era dueño de su propia empresa de construcción donde trabajaba como albañil. Le gustaba cocinar especialmente mariscos, pescar y hablar con amigos. A José le encantaba pasar tiempo con su familia.

José murió el domingo 2 de Abril de 2023 en el Centro de Rehabilitación y Enfermería de University Park en Des Moines. Tenía 73 años.

Le sobreviven su esposa, María; hijos, Miguel (Patricia) Guzman y sus hijos, Andrea y Armando Guzman, Patricia Guzman (Carlos Barrera) y sus hijos, Carlos, Oscar y Carla Barrera, Leticia Guzman (Juan Canchola) y sus hijos, Juan Luis, Luis Alberto, y Rafael Francisco Canchola, Judith Guzman (Miguel Hernandez) y sus hijos Alfredo y Jose Hernandez, Rafael Guzman (fallecido) y su hijo Rafael Guzman, Gabriel Guzman (Sandra) y sus hijos Melanie y Mateo Guzman, y Alejandra Guzman; hermanos, Carlos Guzman, Gustavo Guzman, Consuelo Guzman, Maria Guzman, y muchas sobrinas y sobrinos.

El funeral de José se llevará a cabo a las 2:00 p. m. el miércoles 12 de Abril de 2023 en Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory. El velorio se realizará de 12:00 to 2:00 pm.
