Joseph “Joe” Cecil Duff, age 88, of Adel, passed away on April 13, 2025. He was born to Cecil Francis Duff and Isabel Rose (Gehringer) Duff on January 3, 1937. Joe was raised on the East side of Des Moines and attended Dowling High School. He retired from Fire Stone Tire and Rubber Company, and was a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church for over 60 years.
Joe had three children, Joseph Patrick, Kari Kathleen, and Kristine Ann. Joe enjoyed going to his favorite restaurant, Paula’s in Valley Junction and was known as an avid joke teller, always ready to make others laugh.
He is survived by his two daughters, Kari (Duff) Rainey of Liberty, Missouri, and Kristine (Duff) Bartels of West Des Moines, Iowa; three grandchildren, Brandie Stacey, Jordan Stenger, and Jesse Rainey; and one great grand daughter Za Breya Stacey.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Joseph Patrick on March 17, 1964.
Services will be held at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, 1230 Merle Hay Rd. Des Moines, Iowa 50311, on Thursday, April 24, 2025. A visitation will be held at 10 AM, with a Rosary at 10:45 AM, followed by a Mass at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.
