Joseph Ralph Mitchell, a WWII veteran, died Friday October18, 2013 at Kavanagh House on 56th Street in Des Moines. He was 94. He was preceded in death by his wife Marguerite A. Mitchell; parents Robert and Mary Mitchell; brother David Mitchell; sister Mildred White; son Joseph R. Mitchell, Jr.; daughter Marianna Beikler; and grandson William S. Siedschlag, III. Joseph is survived by brother Marvin Mitchell; sisters Ruth Laughlin and Mary Horan; daughters Suzette (William Jr.) Siedschlag and Linda (Nick) Crauwels; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A private family celebration of life will be held at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel. Memorial Contributions can be directed to Kavanagh House Hospice in Des Moines.
