Joshua James Villa

Joshua Villa, 45, of Adel, passed away unexpectedly in a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 80 in Des Moines working as a tow truck driver.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 9, 2023 at the New Hope Church near Adel with a visitation taking place one hour prior beginning at 9:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for a future designation. Josh was born on June 10, 1978 in Santa Clara, California to James and Laura (Cater) Villa. He attended Ponderosa High School and worked at UPS in the warehouse for many years prior to moving over to work at Rick’s Towing as a tow truck driver. Even though his time as a truck driver was short, he enjoyed the work that he did.

Josh was an avid sports fan and loved his Bay Area teams. Go Niners! He especially loved to watch sports with his sons, dad, brother and his friends. He loved to spend time bonding with his kids, as his family was his life. Josh tried hard to make sure his kids were provided for and taken care of. His infectious laugh, humor and kind hearted spirit will remain and be missed by so many.

Josh is survived by his wife, Tracy Villa; parents, James (April) Villa  and Laura Galvan; sons, Anthony and Matthew Villa; daughter, Bailey Villa; brothers, Nicholas Villa, Christian Villa, and Jake Galvan; and sisters, Lindsey McLaughlin, Katarina Grabowski, Madison Pineda, Chandler Villa, Audrey Grabowski, Emily Karpinski, Jennifer Ormsby, and Samantha Arbuckle. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Love and Grandpa Villa; and maternal grandparents, Sherman and Virginia Cater.
