Joyce Ann Kamm

Joyce Ann Kamm, 71, of Van Meter, passed away at her home after a long, courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, December 10, 2023.

Joyce began her life on May 27, 1952. She was the first of five children of Harold and Shirley Libich. She was born in Liberal, Kansas and grew up in Hooker, Oklahoma until her parents moved to Des Moines, Iowa. They lived in Des Moines for about 2 years prior to moving to Booneville, Iowa to get out of the city.

It was in Booneville where she met her future husband. Mark and Joyce were married on May 24, 1968. They made their home in Booneville and later Van Meter. They have made Van Meter their home for over 50 years.

Joyce is survived by her husband Mark; three sons, Douglas (Karla), Dennis, and Daniel (Dani); three grandchildren, Kendre, Kolby and Payton; and sister, Pamela (Ben) Adams. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Shirley; brother, Michael; and sisters, Kathy and Brenda.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at the Van Meter American Legion Hall. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 20, 2023 also at the Van Meter American Legion Hall. Burial will follow at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery. Lunch will be served at 1:00 pm, after the burial, at the Van Meter American Legion Hall. Memorial contributions may be directed to UnityPoint Hospice, the John Stoddard Cancer Center, and/or the Ladies Auxiliary Post 403.
