Joyce Elaine Macklin, 64, of Redfield passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Methodist West Hospital from Multiple Sclerosis and heart failure. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 1, 2016 at Redfield Christian Church with burial following at Panther Creek Cemetery in Adel. Family will greet friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 31, at the Redfield Christian Church with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Joyce was born on December 23, 1951 in Humboldt, NE to Norman and Bonna Alexander. She graduated from Dexfield High School in 1970 and attended DMACC, furthering her education. She enjoyed making crafts, floral arrangements and cake decorating. Joyce loved to play volleyball and cheerleading in high school. She was a Sunday School teacher and Deaconess at her church and a member of the CWF. She was also a scouting den mother and a Past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star Linden Chapter #482. She married Jerome Macklin on July 3, 1970 and they had four children. Joyce is survived by her husband, Jerome; daughter, Vanessa (Jeff) Giesman; sons, Ryan (Tania) and Kevin (Lindsy); grandchildren, Kylie, Tyler, Calvin, Lillian, Cooper and Piper; brothers , Wayne, Gary (Alice), Glenn (Angie) and Landon (Jan) Alexander ; sisters Twila Hochstein, Nancy Stokes and Connie Alexander; and many nephews, nieces, cousins and in-laws. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Bonna Alexander and son, Timothy. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Redfield Christian Church.
