Joyce M. Kinkennon

Joyce Marie Kinkennon, daughter of Roscoe Raymond Allen and Lillian Isabel Vernness Allen, was born September 5, 1938 in Claremont, Minnesota;, and died July 4, 2007 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa t the age of 68 years, 2 months and 1 day. Joyce attended school in Claremont, Owatonna and in 1951 moved with her family to Jefferson. On December 31, 1955, she married Donald Gene Kinkennon. They were parents of five children: Jerald, Sue, Linda, Cheryl, and Allen. The family made their home in Bouton, Kellogg, Phoenix (Arizona), and in 1997 they moved to Farlin, Iowa. In addition to being a busy homemaker, Joyce worked in home health care in Perry and Phoenix. Her last position was at Cedar Lane Estates as a Med Aid. She loved her family. She enjoyed crocheting, collecting thimbles, computers, and reading. Joyce cared for all pets and volunteered at PAWS in Jefferson. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother Morris Allen; brother Steph and brother Darrell Allen; and sister Lillian Peterson. She is survived by her husband Don; sons: Jerald of San Diego, California; and Allen (Peg) of Gladbrook, Iowa; daughters: Sue Kinkennon of Elm Creek, Nebraska; Linda Vodenik (Mike) of Perry, Iowa; Cheryl Hunter (Daniel) of Kellogg, Iowa; 10 grandchildren: Chad, Jessica, Andy, Aaron, Janna, Angel, Alex, Stephanie, Erica, and Chris; and 8 great-grandchildren.. Joyce is also survived by her brothers: Richard Allen (Beverly) of Mankato, Minnesota and Robert Allen (Maxine) of Clinton, Missouri; sisters: Helen DeBolt of Washington State; Dessie Gasner (Duane) of Owatonna, Minnesota; brothers-in-law: Pete Peterson of Owatonna, Minnesota; Samuel Kinkennon (Ruby) of Ramona, Oklahoma; sisters-in-law: Helen Louise Myers (Milton) of Montgomery, Minnesota; Pauline Sharp of Escondeo, California; and Linda Dixon (Ernie) of Indianola, Iowa; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
