Judith Mary Brady Roberts

Judy Roberts, 77, passed away on April 30, 2018 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Judy was born in Omaha, NE on January 16, 1941, to Thomas and Marie Brady. She graduated from Holy Name High School and later, Mercy School of Nursing in Des Moines. While attending school in Des Moines, she met the love of her life Jim Roberts and they married in August, 1962. They were together for 55 years and were active members of the Urbandale community and St Pius X Catholic Church. Judy had a long career as a nurse, highlighted by 22 years with LifeServe Blood Center. In her spare time she enjoyed her garden, baking, attending her grandchildren’s events, hanging at the beach with her sisters and spending time with her family in Okoboji. Judy is survived by her husband, Jim; sons, Tim (Jackie) Roberts, Donny (Lynne) Roberts and Kelly (Stacey) Roberts; grandchildren, Drew, Josh, Brady, Dawson, Allison, Melanie and Brianne Roberts, Ashley (Wayne) Sohl and Michael (Leeann) Maleta; great-grandchildren; Emma, Hayden and Boston; siblings, Patricia O’Kane (Omaha, NE), Elizabeth Wild (Lafayette, LA) and Thomas Brady (Mesa, AZ). She was preceded in death by her father and mother. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, with a rosary service at 6:30 pm., Thursday, May 3, at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory in Urbandale. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am, Friday, May 4, at Saint Pius X Catholic Church in Urbandale with lunch to follow. Memorial contributions may be given to Saint Pius X Catholic Church.
