Judith Mickelson

Judith "Judy" Mickelson, age 73 of Perry, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at the MercyOne Hospice in Johnston, IA. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care in Perry. Visitation will be on Monday, November 18, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care in Perry. Burial will be in the Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry. Judith "Judy" Gail Mickelson was born on April 10, 1946 at Perry, IA to Gail and Blanche (Roberts) Myers. She attended Perry High School. She was united in marriage to Michael Martin Mickelson at the Fairview United Methodist Church on August 10, 1989. She worked at the Perry Schools as a serving cook and at the Dallas County Hospital in the Radiology Department. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Perry. Judy loved her children and grandchildren and was a baseball coach and den mother. She loved the making meals and preparing for the holidays with her family. In death she rejoins her parents, Gail and Blanche. Left to cherish Judy's memory are her husband Michael, Perry, IA, children, Jeff (Alicia) Van Dorn, Perry, IA and Jim Van Dorn, Stuart, IA and her grandchildren, Kyle, Heaven, Kevin, Anna and Jimmy Van Dorn.
