A visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at St. Francis of Assisi in West Des Moines with a Vigil Service at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at the church. Burial will follow at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to InnerVisions Health Care or AHeinz57. Judy was born on February 23, 1941 in Minot, ND. She married Michael Oliver on May 4, 1963 in San Francisco, CA. Together they had four children. Judy enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, cross stitching, reading, sending greeting cards, and playing cards. She was dedicated to her strong Catholic faith. She was known for her great empathy and compassionate listening. Judy took pride in caring for her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Michael Oliver; Children, Vincent (Valerie) Oliver, Matthew (Jan) Oliver, Micki (Dave) Alsin, Dina (Dan) Smidt; grandchildren, Carly Oliver, Piper Oliver, Daniel Mastrofski, Reilly Smidt, Dylan Smidt, Eli Alsin, Simon Alsin, Caleb Alsin, Nate Alsin; sister-in-law, Linda McCleary; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, and niece.
