Judy Nepple of Clive passed away on May 29, 2024 from kidney cancer. She was born on May 2, 1942 in Algona, Iowa, a daughter of Orville Wagner and Alvina (Reding) Wagner. She married Lee Nepple in St. Joe, Iowa on November 28, 1964.
Judy graduated from Brian Cliff University in 1964. She worked as a travel director for International Travel Associates for many years. She enjoyed following the Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs, playing tennis and Mahjong with her friends, and cheating at Euchre (hold your cards back people – she would peak into your hand). She also enjoyed a good gin and tonic, made the best Thanksgiving dinners ever, and passed her pumpkin bar recipe down to her favorite granddaughter, Sarah, who called her Nam. Sarah promises to continue Nam’s pumpkin bar tradition in November.
She is survived by her son, Mike Nepple, of St. Louis, Missouri; her daughter Michelle Boris, son-in-law Nick Boris, and granddaughter, Sarah Boris, all of Georgetown, Texas; sisters Elaine Anderson of Austin, Texas, and Mary (Denny) Farrell of Iowa City, Iowa; and brothers- and sisters-in law Vern and Roe Nepple of The Villages, Florida, Larry and Cindy Nepple of the Villages, Florida, Ray and Marlene Nepple of Iowa City, Iowa, Ron and Kathy Nepple of Clinton, Missouri, Jerome and Diane Nepple of Carroll, Iowa, Leroy and Elaine Irlbeck of Manning, Iowa, and dozens of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lee Nepple, her parents, a sister, Barb Wagner, brothers-in-law Bob Anderson and Gene Boes, and sister-in-law Mary Jane Boes.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the EveryStep Hospice at the Kavanaugh House, 900 56th Street, Des Moines, IA 50312.
Judy and her family would like to thank Dr. Ashley Simpson-Nedved and Dr. Bradley Lair, their office staff, and the EveryStep hospice for the care she received on her journey.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Biaggi’s Restaurant, 5990 University Ave., West Des Moines, Iowa, where she asked that we serve excellent Italian food, and very good red and white wines.
